November NewFO Linky Party and Giveaway

2014 NewFO Challenge

Here it is...the last day of November. Time to link up and show us your new stuff! It's been a busy month with lots of weather-related challenges. The great thing about the weather challenges is that they give me plenty of time to sew, even if they do give me cabin fever.

Here are the new projects I started this month. First, this pay-it-foward gift for a friend from high school. This is a free pattern from Jenny of Elefantz. I've had the pattern a long time, and it was a good choice for this friend. It turned out so pretty.

That's a finish, but finishes are not required. Just start something new and link it up...finished or not. Here's another finish for you...this "Mickey's Mug" mug rug...another pay-it-forward gift for my good friend, Sher.

I got the inspiration for this from T'onna Peters who blogs at the USS Craftsy.

Finally, this Christmas table topper for the Let's Book It challenge. I'm writing this post ahead, but the quilting is underway for this one, and it'll be on display on my table in no time.

So, now it's your turn. Between bites of turkey, did you have some time to start something new? No finishes are required in the NewFO Challenge. Everyone who links up will be eligible to win this month's 8-pointed star lapel pin.

Here are my simple and friendly rules:

1.  Please link-up with your newly started projects from November, finished or not.  If you feel like it, show us the progress you've made on any other previously posted NewFO projects.

2.  Please link back to this post from your blog.  Also, please link to your blog post, not your blog. Links to entire blogs will be edited.  Links provided for the sole purpose of promoting other events or shopping experiences will be deleted without apology. Please do not link to your Etsy shops or other giveaways and/or promotions you have going on your own blog. To be clear, it is okay to link to other events, but I want to see your NewFO's as a part of your post.

3.  Don't have a blog?  Upload an image to this FlickR group and link to that.  If you have questions about how to do that or about how to link up, please email me.  If you're having trouble posting your image, email it as an attachment, and I will be happy to post it for you.  Please know that it takes a bit for your thumbnail to appear, so don't despair.  It will appear eventually.  You might need to "refresh".

4.  Obviously, I need some way to contact you no matter how you link up.  No email address and no other way to contact you equals no entry in the giveaway.  Email me separately if you need to.

I'll leave this linky party open until one minute before midnight on Saturday, December 6, 2014. Winner of the 8-pointed star lapel pin will be announced on Sunday, December 7, 2014! We will ship anywhere in the known Universe, so everyone is welcome!

Very nice pay-it-forwards! And the table topper has turned out wonderfully too.
I'll be working for my Sunday - a little transcribing in the morning & a few hours at the colleges in the afternoon. I think I may be working on something while I'm on the phones, just haven't decided what yet!

Not exactly sure what today will bring....hopefully some quilty stitching after church. A visit to a friend in the local long-term-care home and early delivery of the quilt I made for her last Spring (a Christmas/early Feb. b'day gift). And....oh yes.....some football, I'm sure!!!! LOL!!!!

Love both of your pay it forward gifts, they turned out beautifully. The deep greens and bright reds look very Christmassy in your table topper. It's going to look great on your holiday table.

Your Christmas table topper turned out great. I also like your Mickey mug rug. My niece works at Disneyland in Anaheim so I'm thinking I might need to make something like that for her! Hope you have a great holiday...and thanks for hosting the NewFO parties. I'm going to miss them!

An interesting detail on the table topper that I have missed before: the subtle shade shifts that make a pieced triangle look like one piece from a distance, then reveal themselves up close. I like it!

Just took Bill back to the airport :( Other than that I'm working on Bonnie Hunter's new mystery, as well as 3 or 4 other projects. One can never have TOO many projects in the works.

Hi! Your Mickey mug rug looks great! Don't you just love that Mickey & Minnie fabric?! Too cute! I'm glad that the Mickey Mouse mug rug I made for my mom inspired you to make one for your friend. My mom loves Mickey! She recently adopted a puppy and named him Mickey... LOL

I like all of it, since I've been wrapped up making tree skirts, I think that table topper would make a beautiful one.
